Determined Hearts was composed for the Middlesex Concert Band in celebration 50th Anniversary. The piece was inspired by a past event in the ensemble’s history. Specifically, there was a fire where the organization lost both music and percussion equipment and almost didn’t recover. However, the perseverance and dedication of the membership brought the ensemble back to become a thriving musical community.
